Gustav Häser ( June 12, 1814 in Lemgo - March 1, 1861 ) was a German theater actor and opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Häser, son of the Weimar choir director and opera singer Christian Wilhelm Häser (1781–1867), known as a church composer, began his theater career there. His next engagement was Detmold. In 1839 he received a call to the court theater in Oldenburg and this theater he belonged to, including a temporary activity in Weimar, until his death in 1861.

There he found the fullest recognition, both from the artistic court and from its intelligent bosses, as well as from the educated public. His abundant talent met with undivided appreciation from all. His excellent achievements were received with approval even at a time when a decrease in Häser's physical strength could already be recognized. His last roles were "Hamlet", "Leontes", "Leicester", "Tasso", "Graf Waldemar" and "Prince Heinrich".

His grandfather was the violinist and music director Johann Georg Häser , his uncle the composer August Ferdinand Häser (1779–1844), his aunt the singer Charlotte Henriette Häser (1784–1871) and the opera singer Mathilde Häser (1815–1885) was his sister.
