Gustav Lotterer

Gustav Lotterer (born March 9, 1906 in Tuttlingen ; † January 21, 1987 there ) was a German composer, arranger and conductor .

Life

Gustav Lotterer ( pseudonym : Bill Brooklyn) was the son of a musical instrument maker. He graduated from the Conservatory in Stuttgart and trained as a music master at the University of Music in Berlin. After the state examination in 1937, he was appointed music master. First he was head of the trumpet music corps in Ulm, then in 1940 he came to Karlsruhe as chief music master of the 109th Infantry Regiment . Immediately after the war , Gustav Lotterer became city music director in Tuttlingen and also directed the city band there. But he was also head of the Tuttlingen men's choir and conductor of the Möhringen town band. From 1949 to 1955 he was Federal Music Director in the German Folk Music Association. In 1968 he retired, but was still a sought-after lecturer and judge.
