Gustav Tellgmann

Gustav Tellgmann (born October 22, 1891 in Weida , Thuringia , † February 26, 1945 in Brandenburg-Görden ) was a German officer . He was executed in the wake of July 20, 1944 .

Life

The lieutenant colonel a. D. and the squadron leader in the National Socialist Motor Corps had repeatedly expressed his hostility to the regime in conversations since the end of May 1944. After the failed assassination attempt on July 20, 1944 , he had also expressly sided with the resistance fighters and prophesied an impending revolution .

Tellgmann was denounced by his interlocutor and charged with undermining military strength . The trial took place before the People's Court . On January 18, 1945, the court found him guilty; the death penalty was imposed as a sentence ; it was carried out a month later in Brandenburg prison .
