Gustav Wittich
Gustav Leopold Constantin Wittich (born October 25, 1783 in Eisenach , † September 21, 1857 in Eisenach) was a German senior consistorial director and Grand Ducal Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach Chancellor in Eisenach.
Life
Gustav Wittich was born in 1783 as the son of the Princely Saxon Chamber Accessists Johann Georg Wittich (1750–1815) and Johanna Christiana Meyer (1740–1804) in Eisenach.
Professional background
At the age of 22 he was here first Hofadvokat , then Kammerprokurator , Regierungsassessor, Councilor , Privy Councilor Grand Ducal Saxon , Oberkonsistorialdirektor and finally in 1837 Chancellor and Chairman of the Eisenach State Government in the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach . His chancellorship began on February 13, 1837 with an annual salary of 1,800 Thalers and lasted until June 30, 1850. On February 16, 1840, by decree by Grand Duke Carl Friedrich, he was named " Knight of the House Order of Vigilance or of the White Falcon " appointed.
family
His marriage to Anna Maria Gau (February 20, 1785 - October 29, 1842) in 1809 resulted in fifteen children, including the later major general Wilhelm Otto von Wittich called von Hinzmann-Hallmann . Gustav Wittich was the father-in-law of the architect and owner of the Eisenach brickworks, Eduard Sältzer . Gustav's granddaughter, Therese Sältzer, married Alfred Appelius, who would later be President of the State Parliament , in 1886 .
