Gustav von Wissmann

Gustav von Wissmann (born July 16, 1822 in Falkenberg ; † November 26, 1897 ) was a German manor owner, administrative officer and writer.

Life

Karl Heinrich Gustav von Wissmann studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. From 1853 to 1859 he was district administrator for the district of Gladbach . He then took his leave of the civil service and lived on his manor Hoffstädt (also: Hofstedt ) near Deutsch Krone in West Prussia . As a lyrical writer, he published under the pseudonym Gustav Duill in, among others, Die Gartenlaube . His daughter Elisabeth was Martin von Nathusius's second wife from 1883 . Ulrich von Hassell remembered him in his records in 1944 .
