Gustavo Nápoles (born May 11, 1973 in Monterrey , Nuevo León ) (also known by the nickname El Gusano , dt. The worm ) is a former Mexican football player on the position of the striker .

Life

"El Gusano" Nápoles began his professional career at his hometown club UANL Tigres , for which he played a total of 93 games between 1991 and 1995. He then switched to CD Guadalajara , where he spent a total of five years in two stages (1995 to 1998 and 2000 to 2002) and with which he won the Mexican championship in the summer of 1997 .

In the final against Toros Neza , Nápoles had made himself “immortal”. After the first leg ended 1: 1, Guadalajara won the second leg in front of their own audience 6: 1, of which four goals went to the "match winner" Gustavo Nápoles.

At the end of his active career, he played in 2005 for the Ecuadorian police sports club Espoli .
