Good morning, you beautiful: Steffi with the subtitle bread and caviar is a 1979 film for GDR television by Vera Loebner based on a chapter from the 1977 book Good Morning, you beautiful by Maxie Wander .

action

Steffi is a divided young woman around thirty. While waiting in a laundromat, she tells her story. With the naivety that seems to be attached to her, she presents herself as the representative of an outdated image of women. And she knows that herself. Her point of view primarily concerns the relationship between men and women. For them, the man only counts if he is clear about his superiority and shows it. He always has to be smarter and better than the woman. The woman is there to pamper him and to adorn him with her presence. According to her, the woman is the ivy, which has to entwine itself around the light figure man. Nevertheless, doubts about their own attitudes arise from time to time.

production

The GDR television produced nine TV productions based on Guten Morgen, du Schöne , whereby three episodes by the director Hans-Werner Honert were banned from performance and could therefore only be shown after the fall of the Wall . The other three episodes of Vera Loebner (recorded with electronic television cameras) and Thomas Langhoff (recorded with 16 mm film cameras) were broadcast in 1979 and 1980.

The first broadcast of this color film took place on November 18, 1979 in the 2nd program of the television of the GDR .
