Guy Hermier

Guy Hermier (born February 22, 1940 in Créteil , † July 28, 2001 in Marseille ) was a French politician. From 1978 to 2001 he was a member of the National Assembly .

Hermier, who was born near Paris , first attended school in Nîmes , but did his Abitur in Montpellier , where he also studied. During his studies he joined a communist movement. After graduating, he became a humanities teacher. In 1967 he became a member of the Central Committee of the Parti communiste français and in 1973 a member of the Politburo . In 1977 he went to Marseille, where he was elected to the National Assembly in 1978 in the fourth constituency of the Bouches-du-Rhône department . In the same year he moved to the regional council of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, a member of which he remained until 1998. As a member of the National Assembly, of which he was Vice-President from 1992 to 1993, he was re-elected five times. Hermier died in 2001 before his mandate expired.
