Tadasu Guy Suzuki (born February 16, 1925 in Paris , † December 16, 2012 in Romorantin-Lanthenay , France ) was a French cameraman .

Live and act

Suzuki, a descendant of Japanese immigrants, received his camera engineering training shortly after World War II and began working as a camera assistant and simple cameraman in the early 1950s. Shortly afterwards he was allowed to photograph films on his own for the first time (for short documentaries). Until the late 1960s, Suzuki, meanwhile sporadically employed as head cameraman, continued to work primarily as a simple cameraman working on large, international productions such as Angélique and diamond billiards with colleagues such as Henri Persin and Claude Lecomte . During this time he also directed a short film called Une petite fugue . In 1966 he was one of the two chief cameramen at the side of colleague Roger Fellous in the ZDF Christmas four-parter Die Schatzinsel .

Afterwards he was only a simple cameraman for the action film The 7 Masks of Judoka and from 1967 onwards he was almost exclusively responsible for shooting movies, including several erotic comedies and action-packed crime and gangster films as well as Jean Gabin's last work , Two Sanctimonious Brothers . After that, since 1976, Guy Suzuki, who in the meantime was named Tadasu Suzuki several times, worked exclusively for television productions. After working on the Cinéma 16 series , Suzuki retired from work in 1981. What he did for the remaining three decades until his death in 2012 is currently unknown. Guy Suzuki was married to assistant director and set designer Christiane Vilfrid (* Bernay February 7, 1924).
