Gwieździn is a village in Gmina Rzeczenica , Powiat Człuchowski of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .

history

The first documentary mention as Vurstenaow comes from the year 1376, when Commander Henryk von Grobitz gave the place localization rights.

The area covered an area of ​​71 hooves . After the Second Peace of Thorn in 1466, the place became part of Poland. The present church was built in 1751. In 1881 there were 780 residents in 88 houses, in the 1930s there were 802 residents.

Under the German name Förstenau, the place was a rural community in Pomerania . In the 1930s this belonged to the district of Schlochau , Grenzmark Province of Posen-West Prussia , Prussia . Due to the administrative reform in 1938, the municipality came to the province of Pomerania . The community consisted of the two places of residence Förstenau and Karlshof.

At the end of the Second World War , the place became part of Poland again as Gwieździn.
