Gyde Koester

Gyde Köster (born March 28, 1945 in Flensburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Gyde Köster studied education , worked as a bookseller and teacher and ran the primary school in Morsum on Sylt . In 1972 she joined the SPD. She was a member of the Sylt-Ost municipal council until 1986. In the working group of social democratic women , she had various functions, including as chairman in the district of North Friesland .

In 1987 Gyde Köster was directly elected to the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein in the state constituency of Südtondern . She won the direct mandate again in 1988 and 1992. She was a member of various committees, including the Agriculture Committee, the Environment Committee and the Education Committee. In 1994 she took part in the 10th Federal Assembly. She resigned from the state parliament in January 1995; Maria Merta moved up for them .

In January 1995 Gyde Köster became State Secretary in the Simonis I cabinet in the women's, education, training and sport department under Minister Gisela Böhrk . She was retired in May 1996.

She is a member of the Education and Science and Workers' Welfare Union , as well as a member of the board of directors of the Nordfriisk Instituut association and deputy chairwoman of the Kiel district association of the Europa-Union Deutschland . She also serves as chair of the SPD local club Braderup .

Gyde Köster is married and has two children.
