Gisela Böhrk
Gisela Böhrk , b. Schlueter (born June 8, 1945 in Leipzig ) is a German politician ( SPD ).
She was Minister for Women from 1988 to 1996 and Minister of Education for Schleswig-Holstein from 1993 to 1998 .
education and profession
After graduating from high school in 1965, Gisela Böhrk initially trained as a mathematical-technical assistant and then began studying at the University of Education in Kiel in 1966 , which she finished in 1969. She worked as a primary school teacher until 1975 .
Political party
Gisela Böhrk initially got involved with the Jusos , of which she was deputy state chairman in Schleswig-Holstein in 1974. From 1991 to 1995 she was then deputy state chairwoman of the SPD.
MPs
From 1975 to 2005 Gisela Böhrk was a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein . From 1983 to 1988 she was deputy chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group .
Public offices
After the state elections in 1988, she was appointed as Minister for Women on May 31, 1988 in the state government of Schleswig-Holstein led by Prime Minister Björn Engholm . After his resignation, she was a member of the government led by Prime Minister Heide Simonis from May 19, 1993 as Minister for Women, Education, Further Training and Sport and from May 22, 1996 as Minister for Education, Science, Research and Culture . On October 28, 1998, she resigned from the state government.
