Peter Theodor Bendixen (born April 16, 1943 in Haurupfeld , Schleswig-Flensburg district , today the municipality of Handewitt ; † August 30, 2007 in Kiel ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1979 to 1988 he was Minister of Culture of Schleswig-Holstein .

Life and work

After graduating from the Goethe School in Flensburg in 1963 , Bendixen completed a teaching degree in history , German and philosophy in Heidelberg , where he became a member of the Christian student union Heidelberger Wingolf in 1963 , Hamburg and Kiel, which he completed in 1969 with the first state examination . After his legal clerkship , he passed the second state examination for teaching at grammar schools in 1972 . Also in 1972 took place its graduation to the Dr. phil. at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel with the thesis "The State Thinking Walter Rathenau " . Then he was the managing director of the CDU parliamentary group in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament until 1974. From 1974 to 1975 Bendixen worked as a teacher at the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in Preetz .

From 1998 until his death, Bendixen was President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Association of the Workers' Samaritan Association .

Peter Bendixen was married and had three children, one of whom died early.

Political party

Bendixen was initially involved in the Junge Union , whose district chairman in Kiel he was from 1969 to 1970. Bendixen was initially deputy chairman from 1970 and chairman of the CDU district association in Kiel from 1982.

From 2002 to 2005 he was the full-time state manager of the CDU in Schleswig-Holstein.

MP

On January 27, 1975, Bendixen moved up for the late MP Heinrich Wolff in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament . From 1975 to 1979 he was deputy chairman of the national education committee and from 1992 to 1996 deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group . After the state election in 1996, Bendixen left the state parliament.

Peter Bendixen's 1975, 1979 and 1983 as directly selected delegates of the constituency Kiel Center, and otherwise always on the national list drawn into the parliament.

Public offices

On May 29, 1979, Bendixen was appointed minister of culture to the state government of Schleswig-Holstein led by Gerhard Stoltenberg . He also retained this office under his successor, Uwe Barschel , who was in office from 1982 . After Barschel's resignation in October 1987, Bendixen was a member of the executive state government under Henning Schwarz until May 31, 1988 , when he left office.
