The Black Cabinet formed the executive state government of Schleswig-Holstein from October 2, 1987 to May 31, 1988 .
After Uwe Barschel resigned in the course of the Barschel affair , it was not possible to elect a new Prime Minister. Barschel's previous deputy, Henning Schwarz, was in charge of the state government until the early state elections on May 8, 1988 and until Björn Engholm was elected regular prime minister on May 31, 1988.
