The Wolfgarten grammar school in the Eisenstadt diocese is located on the northern edge of the Eisenstadt municipality in Burgenland .

history

In 1959 the idea was to build an education center in Wolfgarten. The foundation stone was laid on October 3, 1959 for a single home . On September 11, 1960, the building was consecrated with Diocesan Bishop Stefan László and the Catholic Teachers' Training Institute moved into it, which was previously housed in the Eisenstadt Encounter House . In 1962, due to the legal dissolution of the teacher training institutes, it was continued as a five-year music-pedagogical secondary school and a Burgenland Pedagogical Academy was established. From 1976 the school was called Oberstufenrealgymnasium . In 1985 the eight-year high school began.

school-building

Legal changes to the laws on schools and education resulted in extensive renovations in the 1960s, but the living rooms and bedrooms of the residents still have balconies, the study rooms and leisure rooms do not. In 1985 partitions were removed for use as a grammar school and a second staircase was added. A comprehensive general renovation took place in 2013.

The painter Giselbert Hoke painted six wall paintings in the foyer from the ground floor to the second floor (draft 1949/1951, executed 1954–1956) and are listed as historical monuments .
