The Gyong Kangri is a 6727 m high glaciated mountain in the main ridge of the Saltoro Mountains , a part of the Karakorum Mountains .

The Gyong Kangri is located in the disputed border region between the Pakistani territory of Gilgit-Baltistan (the former northern areas ) and the Indian Kashmir region in the southwest of the Siachen Glacier . The so-called " Line of Control " runs over the summit. Its western flank is drained via the Gyong Glacier , while the eastern flank lies in the catchment area of the Nubra . On the opposite side of the Gyong Glacier, the 6,620 m high Gharkun rises in a west-southwest direction at a distance of 11 km .
The Gyong La pass crossing is located 4.3 km north of the Gyong Kangri. Chumik ( 6754 m ), also located on the main ridge, is 11 km northwest of Gyong Kangri. South 14 km south-southeast preferred forms 6828 m high La Yongma Ri ( D52 ) to the next higher elevation.
