The Swiss timber construction company Häring & Co. AG was founded in 1879 by Christian Häring in Pratteln in the Basel area. At the beginning of 2013, the Häring Group moved to its current headquarters in Eiken , Aargau. In 2012, Häring generated sales of 43 million Swiss francs.

Field of activity

The Häring Group, consisting of four subsidiaries, is active in wood construction. The company specializes in structures in glulam technology , to building envelopes for renovation and new construction, from the carport to the tram depot, as well as the Holzelementbau, space modules and system building (industrial building). In addition, Häring offers engineering services, as well as structural checks and windows and doors. As early as 1993, the NOAH low-energy house construction method ("Low Energy Optimized Alternative House Construction Technology") was developed.

With Roth Burgdorf AG, there is a 100% subsidiary in Burgdorf.

Construction projects

Häring became internationally known through the construction of two wooden dome warehouses for de-icing salt Saldome / Saldome2 (2005, 2012) in Rheinfelden . For the former, the company received the Global Eco-Tech Award 2005 on the occasion of the 2005 World Exhibition in Aichi / Japan , while the latter, as a wooden dome, is the largest dome in Europe at its time .

For the Eden Project in England, Häring & Co. constructed the roof structure of the Education Resource Center in the form of two spatially twisted, interpenetrating arch systems made of glued laminated timber, the division of which corresponds to the mathematical Fibonacci sequence related to the golden ratio , thus symbolizing harmony in the laws of nature to transfer to the building (architect: Nicholas Grimshaw ).

In the Swiss town of Cernier , Häring developed the building envelope and the supporting structure of the Mycorama , Switzerland's first mushroom museum, in collaboration with the architect P. Studer .

In Hangzhou , People's Republic of China, within a few months from June 2009 to January 2010, Häring & Co. built the new Buddhist Xiangji temple complex (on the Jing Hang Canal in the Gongshu district) based on the historical original. The glued laminated timber used for the load-bearing skeleton was manufactured in 2 × 12-hour shifts in the Häring factory in Tianjin, 2000 kilometers away. Spruce and fir wood supplied from Switzerland was used for the interior, and solid Douglas fir wood from Canada was used for the exterior.

Roth Burgdorf provided the work and execution planning for the passerelle, known as the wave from Bern , over the tracks at Bern railway station; For this project, among other things, SBB was awarded the Wakker Prize by the Swiss Homeland Security as the client in 2005 .

Haring abroad

In addition to the subsidiaries based in Switzerland, the Häring Group also has two international commitments. Häring has set up its own production companies such as Ecowood SA in Gabon and operates Haring Swiss Wood Structures Tianjin Ltd. in China. for the production of glued wood structural elements.
