society

Also known as "Lito" Silva, the player began his career at Canillitas . From 1957 to 1963 he played in Montevideo for Danubio FC . In the last year of his association with the club, he was also loaned to Club Atlético Cerro for its largest tour to date in the club's history, which took place over a period of two months from May to July 1963 through Europe, the Soviet Union and Africa. From the following year he was part of the Peñarols squad until 1970 . In 1964, 1965, 1967 and 1968 Peñarol won the Uruguayan championship. In 1965 they also reached the finals or play-offs of the Copa Libertadores , in which they still had to leave the final triumph to CA Independiente . Silva was involved in all three final games. In the following year, the Aurinegros, trained by Roque Máspoli , won the Copa Libertadores in the finals or play-offs in May against River Plate and in October 1966 Real Madrid were defeated in the game for the World Cup .
