Hélène Hillion-Guillemin
Hélène Hillion-Guillemin (born January 2, 1969 in Pontivy ) is a former French football player . In her career she has won six national championship titles.
Club career
Little is known about Hillion-Guillemin's career as a youth; At the latest at the age of 18, the defender came to the then French "series champion" VGA Saint-Maur . There she initially only made a few appearances in the championship finals - a uniform national league was only created in 1992 - but she won her first title as early as 1988, stood alongside Sandrine Roux and player- coach Élisabeth Loisel , among others , also in the final and became a national player immediately afterwards. In 1990, after winning the second championship (this time without playing in the final), the Breton moved to Juvisy FCF ; with this women's club she was successful four more times in Division 1 until the relatively early termination of her competitive sports career (1998) .
The national player
In July 1988, the French national coach Aimé Mignot Hélène Hillion-Guillemin put in a friendly match against England for the first time in France a national team . From her fourth international match in March 1990 she was part of the team. Even after this had qualified for the finals of the European Championship in 1997 , Mignot took them on in his final line- up. At the tournament in Norway and Sweden , she played all three preliminary round matches against Spain , Russia and co-hosts Sweden . The French were only eliminated prematurely because of the slightly worse goal difference , and Hélène Hillion-Guillemin then ended her international career.
By July 1997, she had played a total of 62 international matches for France, in which she had scored a goal against Russia in May 1993. There were only three encounters against women from German-speaking countries, all of them against Germany , each of which had ended with a clear defeat: 2-0 in March 1991, 7-0 in September 1992 and 3-0 in March 1993.
