Höffen is a district in the Paffrath district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The name Höffen takes up a medieval settlement name that is documented as being in the Hoven for 1382 . It is recorded in the original cadastre north of Paffrath in the area of today's Höffenstrasse. Around 1790 the settlement consisted of two farms. In 1858 there were 15 residents here.
etymology
The name of the settlement is derived from the Germanic Hove (= courtyard, farmstead) and referred to the two aforementioned courtyards, which must have existed as early as 1382, since the earliest mention of the majority was Hoven .
