Baden-Württemberg cave rescue
The Baden-Württemberg Cave Rescue e. V. ( HRVD ) is an organization founded in 1985 to provide assistance in emergencies in caves and underground cavities. The association is also involved in the prevention of cave accidents and in matters of material safety . The seat is in Tübingen .
The area of operation of the non-profit association extends beyond the state of Baden-Württemberg and, in special cases, beyond. The Baden-Württemberg Cave Rescue has 145 members (2009), some of whom are also medically trained. In addition, around 150 other emergency services from member associations are available for cave missions.
The association works with the Cave Rescue Association Germany and is a member of the Association of German Cave and Karst Researchers (VdHK).
Mission sequence
In an emergency, the emergency services are ordered to a collection point near the cave by SMS and mobile phone . The operational material is brought in by the fire brigade or mountain rescue service from the depots of the professional fire department in Reutlingen and the mountain rescue service in Lenningen- Schopfloch. An advance team goes underground for search and first aid, followed by a communication team who set up a telephone connection to the operations command. Medical Team followed, carrying troops, possibly diving squads and engineering teams to prepare for a friendly Injured transport. When the casualty is stabilized, the cave rescuers carry out the transport.
history
The association was founded due to several cave accidents, one of which was fatal. The association first caused a sensation on the occasion of a rescue operation in the Falkensteiner Cave near Bad Urach on the night of February 25th to 26th, 1995 and has been alerted to cave accidents since then, as it is part of the rescue chain .
