Hüttenwasen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hüttenwasen is a saddle between Feldberg (in the southeast) and Totem Mann (in the northwest), a transition between Zastler Loch and St.-Wilhelmer Tal in the Black Forest . It is located in the Feldberg nature reserve .

The saddle falls from the Feldberg to the northwest, initially steeply to 1231  m above sea level. NN and then rises more gently towards the dead man. The Hüttenwasen is used as high pasture for cows in summer. At the lower end of the high pasture is the Hüttenwasenhütte, a small wooden shelter.

The cottage Wasen is just walking distance from the tunnel Hütte (access from the Zastlertal ) or the Erlenbacher hut (access from Oberried ) on dead man, from the Zastler hole and the St. Wilhelmer valley from Feldberg or Zastler hut from reachable.

At the lower end of the Hüttenwasen, just below the Hüttenwasenhütte, the Alpine path begins , one of the highest hiking trails in the Black Forest, through the alpine terrain of the northern slopes of Feldberg and Stübenwasen , which is a specialty in the Black Forest due to its exposed location and alpine character.
