Zastler Hut
The Zastler Hütte is a managed low mountain hut at an altitude of 1256 m above sea level. NHN . It is located in the Zastler Loch northwest of the Feldberg summit in the Black Forest .

The Zastler Hütte stands in the middle of the Feldberg nature reserve below an Ice Age cirque and below the Feldberg summit. Located directly on a nature trail, it is often the starting point and destination for hikes in the Feldberg area.
history
The Zastler Viehhütte used to be owned by the municipality of Zastler and, along with the farms in the Zastler Valley, came into the possession of the state at the beginning of the 20th century. Since 1951 and 1962 it was again owned by the then independent community of Zastler , which today belongs to Oberried . The hut has been privately owned since 2001. In 1883 the shepherd's apartment and stable were demolished and a new, larger cattle hut with a shepherd's apartment and commercial law was built. In the years that followed, the hut was frequently visited by painters and naturalists from Freiburg, as well as hikers and skiers, to whom it was rented out in winter. The hut used to be supplied with water from the Zastlerbach . In 1954, three springs were taken at Osterrain to supply the nearby Freiburger Hütte of the Freiburg Ski Club and the Zastler Hütte with drinking water, which was then connected in 1956. Both huts have been using electricity since 1963.
After the Herderhaus burned down on February 12, 1910, it was rebuilt by the Kirchzarten Forestry Department and was inaugurated on June 12, 1912. In February 1942 the cattle hut was partially dented by an avalanche and fell into disrepair in the years that followed, until it was refurbished in the first few years after the war.
In December 2011, the Zastler Hut was cut off from the outside world for six days by a rock fall.
Accesses
During the hut season (mid-May to the end of October) you can stay overnight in a mattress dorm . The hut can only be reached on foot, the closest parking spaces are at the Rinken (approach from Hinterzarten ), on the Feldberg, at the Erlenbacher hut or the Stollenbacher hut and at the end of the Zastlertal valley .
