The HC Oppenweiler / Backnang is a handball community of the parent clubs TV Oppenweiler 1911 e. V. and TSG Backnang 1846 TuS e. V. It has existed since 2014 and initially comprised the youth teams of the parent clubs. The adult teams have also been participating in games together since 2015. The first men's team has been playing in the Third League South since the 2015/16 season after TV Oppenweiler was promoted to the third division as second in the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga at the end of the 2014/15 season .
