The TGS Pforzheim ( Turngesellschaft Pforzheim 1895 eV ) is a sports club from Pforzheim in the north-west of Baden-Württemberg . In addition to some popular sports, handball is practiced as a competitive sport in the TGS ; the first men's handball team plays in the 3rd division (as of 08/18).

This enabled the club to develop continuously over several years, starting with the promotion to the Baden regional league in the 2000/01 season. In the 2006/07 season the TGS was able to celebrate the championship and thus promotion to the Baden League , three years later in the 2009/10 season the Baden League Championship and promotion to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg (BWOL) followed . As champions of the BWOL season 2012/13, the TGS finally rose to the 3rd division.

The team's coach has been former national player Andrej Klimovets since August 2013 , who was signed as a player in the preseason and played a decisive role in the promotion success.

In the 2016/2017 season they finished 3rd in the 3rd League South with 41:19 points and thus qualified for the 1st round of the DHB Cup.

At the end of January 2019 it was announced that Klimovets will leave the TGS in the summer of 2019. At the beginning of the 2019/20 season, Michael Rost took over the management of the first men's team.
