HD 178911 , also cataloged as HR 7272 , is a star system in the constellation Lyra, about 160 light years away .
The system consists of a spectroscopic binary, HD 178911 A , the third of a star, HD 178911 B , is accompanied. The components A and B form a visual double star with an angular distance of 16 ", 10 ± 0", 01 (several hundred astronomical units ).
The components of the spectroscopic double star A with the systematic names HD 178911 Aa and HD 178911 Ab have an orbital period of 3.55 years and their semi-major axis measures 0 ", 074.
Component B also has a spectroscopic companion with HD 178911 Bb , which may be an exoplanet .
HD 178911 B
HD 178911 B is a star of the spectral class G and has an apparent magnitude of about 8.0 mag. It is orbited by the potential exoplanet HD 178911 Bb with an orbital period of 71.5 days . The object has a minimum mass of about 6 Jupiter's masses and was discovered using the radial velocity method; its discovery was made in 2002 by Zucker et al. released.
