The HTBLA Jenbach (Higher Technical College Jenbach) is a Higher Technical College in Jenbach , Tyrol . This makes it the only HTL in the Tyrolean Unterland and offers space for almost 500 students who are taught by 60 teachers.
history
In the mid-1960s, there were already initial thoughts on planning a secondary school in Jenbach. Originally a music and pedagogical high school was to be built. In 1968, however, due to the industrial and economic conditions at the site, in cooperation with the regional school board of Tyrol and the municipality of Jenbach, the decision was made to build a higher technical college . The decision was strengthened by the Jenbacher Werke , which provided the company's own workshop in the first few years. In the same year, the property was also bought by the Wiesing community and incorporated into the Jenbach community in 1976.
Beginning in the 1971/72 teaching year, the mechanical engineering department taught for the first few years as an outsourced class at the HTL Anichstraße in Innsbruck . The workshop lessons were held in a rented workshop of the Jenbacher Werke. In February 1974 the contract between the Republic of Austria, the State of Tyrol and the municipality of Jenbach was signed, which describes the establishment of the Jenbach branch of the HTL Anichstraße in Innsbruck. Ernst Seidl was the first head of the newly founded HTL Jenbach. In the 1975/76 school year, the HTL Jenbach took the first matriculation examination under the chairmanship of the former section head Molzer. In 1975 it was decided to rebuild the school building, construction began in October 1979. From January 1, 1979, the Jenbach branch became independent.
From the 1980/81 teaching year, the first year of the higher department for mechanical engineering, installation, heating and air conditioning technology was opened. In autumn 1981 the new workshops were ready for occupancy and in September 1982 the rest of the building could also be occupied. The inauguration of the new building took place in January 1983. The then Minister of Education Fred Sinowatz and the President of the Regional School Council for Tyrol Fritz Prior were present here. In the 1992/93 teaching year, the departments of industrial engineering and mechanical engineering, building services and energy planning were added to the curriculum. These were shared in 2011, and the building technology department has been independent since then.

Central Matura
According to the guidelines laid down in the School Organization Act, a standardized maturity and diploma examination, also known as the central matura, with a final presentation of the work is provided in every higher technical school. The area of responsibility does not have to correspond to the chosen direction in the HTL, but can take a different direction. Furthermore, the Matura thesis leads to the university entrance qualification.
Parents Association
Three representatives of the association's board from the parents' association are entitled to vote in the school community committee. The committee approves various financial support for internal school projects and the annual graduation ceremony for high school graduates at the HTL.
Kolpingheim
In Jenbach there is a student home ( Kolping Society ), which can be used jointly by students from the local vocational schools and the vocational secondary schools. Above all, students with long journeys to school are accommodated here. It offers space for almost 100 students.
