The Engebretson Peak is a 3271 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Johns Hopkins Ridge of the Royal Society Range , it looms between Sladen Summit and the Borg Bastion .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names renamed it in 1995 after the US atmospheric scientists Mark J. Engebretson from Augsburg College , an internationally recognized luminary in the correlation analysis of data from the Arctic and Antarctic .
