Haşim Çelik (born July 17, 1990 in Weißenburg in Bavaria ) is a German Taekwondoin . He has been a German national athlete in Paralympic Taekwondo since 2016. He is also an SPD politician.

Sports

Çelik began his sporting career at the sports club ESV Treuchtlingen in the Taekwondo division . Celik was born with bilateral malformations of toes and fingers, but he compensates for this with his speed, technique and ambition. With various victories against non-physically handicapped opponents he made a name for himself in the scene. Since 2010 he has been with KSC Leopard Nürnberg eV, where the Olympic, world and European champion Servet Tazegül is under contract.

On June 8, 2013 Çelik won the world championship title at the Para World Cup in Lausanne (Switzerland) in the weight class up to 68 kg. On August 21, 2013 Çelik won silver at the Para European Championships in Bucharest (Romania). On June 22, 2014 he reached 3rd place in the weight class up to 75 kg at the Para World Championships in Moscow (Russia). In the same year he fought for the 2nd place at the Para-European Championships in Belek (Turkey), also in the weight class up to 75 kilograms. On April 20, 2015, he became European champion in Chișinău (Moldova).

politics

Çelik has been the state chairman of the “Migration and Diversity” working group of the SPD Bavaria since December 2014 . His political focus and interests lie in the area of ​​integration, asylum / refugee, sports and disability policy. In May 2014 Çelik became a board member of the Treuchtlingen SPD local association.
