Haake-Beck is a brand of the Bremer Brauerei Beck GmbH & Co. KG , which belongs to the world's largest beer group, Anheuser-Busch InBev . As Haake-Beck , beer is mainly produced for Bremen and the surrounding area.

history

Cord Hinrich Haake , son of a landlord and brewer, founded the company in 1826 as the CH Haake brewery . When the founder died in 1845, his brewery was brewing around 20 percent of Bremen's beer production.

In 1887 the CH Haake brewery was transformed into a stock corporation with a share capital of 1 million marks. With the proceeds of the conversion, the Haake brewery relocated its operations to Bremen Neustadt and expanded the facilities there to a production of 80,000 hectoliters in 1905. During the First World War , Haake & Co. took over the Hemelinger Actien Brewery (HAB) in 1918 , whose brand Hemelinger Spezial , owned by Getränke Ahlers since 2008, was manufactured by Haake-Beck until the beginning of 2012. In 1921, beer production was merged with the Kaiserbrauerei Beck & Co. under the name Haake-Beck Brauerei AG .

In World War II air raids destroyed and from 1945 containing alcohol under the ban on the production beer, Haake Beck in 1948 began with a light and a dark beer re-introduced in the 1950s, a new beer and took over the distribution of Sinalco -Getränken in Region. In 1965, Haake-Beck AG took over the Union brewery , which was founded in 1907 and was based in the Walle district of Bremen . Production there continued for three years, but the Union brewery closed in 1968. From 1970 Haake-Beck was a member of the Vitamalz association.

In 1981 the company merged with Beck & Co. after Haake-Beck had taken over the majority in Coca-Cola Bremen in 1979 . The brewery and its beer brands were sold to the Belgian company Interbrew in 2002 , which today as Anheuser-Busch InBev is the largest brewery group in the world and has its German headquarters in the old Beck & Co. administration building on the Weser . While the Beck’s brand from Beck & Co. is known nationally and internationally and is the most important German export beer, Haake-Beck is sold in and around Bremen and enjoys great importance there. Until 2004, the beer barrels in the closer area around the brewery were still delivered in a two-horse carriage. After the takeover by InBev, this traditional type of delivery had to be abandoned for reasons of rationalization. The horses and the carriage were sold, and the stables were converted into offices.
