Haberer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Haberer means:

  • in Bavaria earlier the Haberfeldtreiber (participant in a Haberfeldtreibens ), as well as (mostly derogatory) as a term for the Austrians themselves (especially from the eastern Austrian parts of the country with their special language "Viennese Schmäh").
  • in Austria, especially in the Central Bavarian language area north of the Alps or "Hawara" (from chaver (= friend, mate), plural: חַבֵרִים chaverim (= friends)) mostly a friend or buddy, but is also used synonymously with “man” (not in the marital sense) or lover - here also belittled “Habschi” or in Vorarlberg “Habi”. Derivations such as “worn out” or “worn out” sound little appreciative for “connected in a rope team” and friendship economy .
