Peter Haberer

Peter Haberer (born November 17, 1935 in Saarbrücken ; † May 10, 2004 in Homburg ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending primary school in Zweibrücken from 1942 to 1946 and graduating from high school in 1955 at the humanistic grammar school in Zweibrücken , Haberer studied law in Frankfurt , Munich and Würzburg from 1955 to 1959 . He passed the first state examination in law in 1959 in Würzburg; the second followed in Mainz in 1963 .

From 1963 to 1966 he worked at the Institute for International Solidarity of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation . He was co-founder of the Institute for Social Studies of the Christian Trade Unions and Cooperatives in Bogota ( Colombia ) and worked there from 1964 to 1966 as a technical advisor and lecturer in Christian social doctrine, general political theory, constitutional law and social policy.

From 1966 to 1967 he worked as a government assessor at the Federal Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs in Bonn. From there he moved to Zweibrücken in 1967 as a court assessor , where he became a public prosecutor in 1969 .

He also worked as a development expert in Rwanda .

Political party

Haberer joined the CDU in 1953. From 1960 to 1963 he was district chairman of the JU Zweibrücken-Stadt . In addition, also member of the board of the CDU Zweibrücken-Stadt and board member of the district association Rheinhessen-Pfalz of the social committees as well as member of the district association board of the CDU.

MP

Haberer was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from May 18, 1971 to May 17, 1983 . He was a member of the state parliament for a total of 3 electoral terms. In the 7th electoral term he was a member of the Petitions Committee , the Legal Committee, the Social Policy Committee and the Prison Commission. In the 8th electoral term he was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sport, the Petitions Committee, the Legal Committee and the Prison Commission. In the 9th electoral term he was deputy chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs and Health and a member of the Committee on Environment and the Election Review Committee.

He was chairman of the Palatinate Association for Criminal Assistance e. V. as well as member of the arbitration committee, in the German Association of Judges and in the State Youth Welfare Committee.
