Haddenhauser Berg

The Haddenhauser Berg is a 261.3  m high mountain in the Wiehen Mountains . The mountain lies on the border of the East Westphalian city of Minden and the municipality of Hille in the north and the city of Bad Oeynhausen in the south in the Minden-Lübbecke district .

The mountain is named after the town of Haddenhausen , a district of Minden, the center of which is about three kilometers northeast of the mountain. Volmerdingsen is closer to the mountain on the southern slope . 1.3 kilometers west of the mountain is Bergkirchen , the only village in the district on the ridge.

Like almost all mountains in the Wiehengebirge, the Haddenhauser Berg has an elongated ridge peak ( Egge ) and is only separated from the peaks to the west by Dören . Therefore, the mountain is only partially perceived as a prominent peak.

In the area of the Haddenhauser Berg, the comb-like Wiehengebirge is relatively narrow at 950 meters. The Haddenhauser Berg is forested down to around 120 to 130 meters in the north. In the south, the forest sometimes extends up to 130 meters, but sometimes agricultural areas also reach up to 200 meters.

The top of the mountain is pathless, the Wittekindsweg runs immediately to the north . There is a refuge 250 meters west of the summit. The Wittekindshof diaconal facility is located on the southern slope of the mountain .
