The port of Brussels is an inland port in Brussels , the capital of Belgium . The port is over the channel Zeekanaal Brussel-Schelde (dt. Sea channel Brussels- Schelde ) with the Schelde and thus to the port of Antwerp and the North Sea connected. About the Canal Charleroi-Bruxelles (dt channel. history

The port of Brussels was created on June 1, 1993 from the predecessor organization NV Zeekanaal after Belgium transferred authority over the ports to the regions . This new independence created a new dynamic and increasing results. Between 1974 and 1993, the throughput fell from 14.4 million tons to less than a third. From 1993 to 2004 the throughput increased again by 60%.
