Hai sbagliato… dovevi uccidermi subito! is an Italian western in the guise of a crime film that Mario Bianchi directed in 1973 in a Spanish co-production. The film starring Robert Woods and Nieves Navarro found no distribution in the German-speaking world .
action
Jonathan Pinkerton is on the road as a damage inspector for the London Lloyds. He is sent to Arizona, where he is supposed to solve a million dollar robbery in a small western town. He finds out that three bandits are responsible for the theft, one of which has already been killed by his accomplices. In addition, Pinkerton encounters a lot of people who are possible suspects in the case; He carefully tries to reveal the identity of the mastermind, but also has to fend off several attacks on his life. Over time, he succeeds in putting the pieces of the puzzle together and can finally convict the sheriff of the city and Kate, the wife of a confidante, as guilty.
criticism
The film is riddled with crime thriller, but also uses typical western scenarios (albeit confusedly assembled) and before stagnation can at least come up with comical dialogues and a satisfying solution. The actions of the law enforcement officer, however, cannot convert all other shootings and showdowns that are useful in themselves, and the film is not convincing enough due to its conventionality. The Corriere della Sera found the result of the genre mix to be "so mutually disturbing that nobody is interested in the result."
Remarks
In some versions Pinkerton was nicknamed "Django Ginsburg", in others with the nickname "Ace".
