Hajrudin Varešanović

Hajrudin "Hari" Varešanović (born January 16, 1961 in Sarajevo ) is a famous and popular singer in Bosnia and Herzegovina . Varešanović is famous as a solo singer, composer and front man of the music group Hari Mata Hari and took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 .

Career

In his more than 20-year career he has given over 1000 concerts. In 1999 he and his group took part in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Starac i More . They were able to win the preliminary round, but shortly afterwards it was announced that his song had already been sold to Finland and was also released there. Instead, the duo Dino & Béatrice were sent to Jerusalem .

On 9 February 2006, the Bosnian television was PBSBiH announced that Hari Varešanović Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 in Greek Athens is represented. His song Lejla was written by the Serbian composer Željko Joksimović , the text comes from the Bosnian authors Fahrudin Pecikoza and Dejan Ivanović .

Varešanović told the Bosnian newspaper Nezavisne Novine :

European viewers were equally enthusiastic about the song Lejla by Hari Mata Hari for third place in the overall ranking. In 2008, Varešanović released the song Dabogda with Dino Merlin , which became a number one hit in Bosnia.
