Hakeborn is a district of the municipality of Börde-Hakel and is located on the western edge of the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The place is north of the nature reserve Hakel about 26 kilometers northwest of Aschersleben and about 25 kilometers south of Magdeburg .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 960. It was the ancestral seat of the von Hakeborn family .
The area is still largely agricultural today. On January 1, 2010, the communities of Hakeborn, Etgersleben and Westeregeln merged to form the new community of Börde-Hakel.

The coat of arms is the shield of the noble lords of Hakeborn , which died out in the 14th century and whose ancestral seat was the village of Hakeborn. The design of the coat of arms goes back to the Magdeburg State Archives Councilor Otto Korn .
