Katja Huhn (* 1981 in Moscow ) is a Russian born pianist.

Life

Katja Huhn received her first piano lessons at the age of five. She was taught by Mohel at the Music School of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory. At the Academic Music School there she studied with Tigran Alichanow from 1996 to 2000 and in June 2000 received the diploma “with distinction”.

During the Bremen piano competition in 1999 she received an offer from Maria Tipo to study with her at the School of Music in Fiesole ( Italy ). She was tutored by Tipo and de Maria from October 2000 to October 2002.

In April 2002 she began studying artistic instrumental training with a major in piano at the Cologne University of Music with Vasily Lobanov and became his assistant. She received further lessons from Jean Fassina , Daniel Pollak and Rudolf Kehrer .

Katja Huhn has already played several solo concerts in Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. In 2006 she appeared at various festivals as a soloist and chamber music partner, for example on the occasion of the Andernach Music Days ( Burg Namedy ), the International Music Weeks at Berleburg Castle , the Euregio Music Festival ( Osnabrück ), the Salzburg Castle Concerts, the “Diabolus in musica” festival (Italy ). Together with the violinist Sophie Moser , she made a studio production for Bayerischer Rundfunk at the end of 2005 .

Awards

In 1996 she won the first prize of the XXV. International piano competition “Citta di Senigallia”, Senigallia (Italy). From 1997 to 1999 she received the “Scholarship from the Russian Ministry of Culture for the best students in the country” ( Russia ), in 1999 a grant from the Bremen piano competition, in 2000 the scholarship from the music festival “Les Rencontres Musicales d'Enghien” ( Belgium ), 2001 the scholarship from Lyra Foundation / Bank Vontobel , Ftan ( Switzerland ), 2001–2002 the “ Rudolf Serkin Scholarship” of the Fondazione OMINA, Florence (Italy) and in 2004 the “Prize for Piano of the International Daun Master Course ” ( Germany ). In 2006 she was honored as the best pianist of the competition at the “ Euriade Vocal Concours” in Kerkrade ( Netherlands ), where she accompanied the winner Katharina Hagopian .
