Haldwani-Kathgodam ( Hindi : हल्द्वानी-काठगोदाम, also Haldwani-Cum-Kathgodam ) is a city in the Indian state of Uttarakhand .
Haldwani-Kathgodam is located in the Nainital district on the western bank of the Gaula , which cuts through the Siwaliks immediately north of the city . Haldwani-Kathgodam was created through the merger of Haldwani with the northern adjacent Kathgodam . Haldwani-Kathgodam has been a municipal corporation since May 2011 . The city of Haldwani goes back to the founding of the city in 1834.
In the 2011 census, Haldwani-Kathgodam had 156,078 inhabitants, including suburbs ( outgrowths ) 201,461.
