Halina Jaworski (born December 13, 1952 in Danzig , Poland ) is a German painter and visual artist .

Life

Halina Jaworski studied from 1971 to 1973 at the Bezalel Academy for Art and Design in Jerusalem. She has lived and worked in Düsseldorf since 1974 . From 1974 to 1979 he studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Günther Uecker . She is Günther Uecker's first master class student .

Art style

Since 1984, Halina Jaworski has been using the large series of images "Ahnen". In these (acrylic on canvas) paintings, imaginary spiritual spaces open up, which initially appear to be architecturally tangible. Paravant-like structures interspersed with picture lines and the accentuated ductus of the brushstroke give the colored surfaces transparency. The paintings clearly show a narrative structure, which in some of the works is determined by symbols or architectural segments. From 1979, for example, this was preceded by the “Ecksen” reliefs (“shaped canvas”), polygonal picture bodies that could be folded into space. Halina Jaworski's works are most likely to be seen in sequence. Among other things in collages made up of watercolors and photographs.
