The brook rises east of Hirschberg on the southwest flank of the Kahlenbergsköpfe called elevation at an altitude of 430 m above sea level. NN . First flowing to the southwest, the stream turns in a wide arc to the northwest after just 100 meters. About 3 km northwest of Hirschberg, the hall joins at 293 m above sea level. NN with the Lottmannhardbach to the Heve .
