The Halsbach is a creek about ten kilometers long in the Altötting district in Bavaria . It flows into the Alz in Burgkirchen .

The headwaters are located at an altitude of 464 meters in the municipality of Kirchweidach . The stream mostly runs in a north-easterly direction, only two kilometers before the mouth does it turn north.

The Halsbach rises as a meadow stream, is fed by several small springs and flows after 500 meters into the municipality of Halsbach .

As the first notable tributary in Moosen, the Schmidhamer Bach flows into the Halsbach, which then flows past the towns of Itsching and Halsbach. Below the village of Halsbach, the Thalleiten Bach flows from the south at km 3 .

The largest tributary, the Eichecker Bach, and after another five kilometers the Stockötzer Bach flows at the level of Thalhausen .

After seven kilometers the brook enters the municipality of Burgkirchen ; from here the stream was renatured. A nature trail accompanies the course of the stream between the districts of Holzen and Obere Terrasse . The artificially created Halsbach Weiher is located here . The last 500 meters the water flows in a canal that is used for flood protection. The Halsbach flows into the Alz at an altitude of 398 meters near Burgkirchen .
