Haltenberg Stetten is a living space within the boundaries of the core city Niederstetten in Main-Tauber-Kreis in Franconia dominated northeastern Baden-Wuerttemberg . It is the predecessor settlement of Niederstetten, which was called Haltebergstetten until 1807 . The place is also eponymous for the Castle Haltbergstetten .

geography

The living space is located in the southwest of the city center Niederstetten, at an altitude of about 350  m above sea level. NHN on the lower spur of the Lämmerberg , which separates the Vorbach , which runs through Niederstetten northwards, from the side valley of the Frickentalbach , which flows from the southwest in Niederstetten .

history

The place, consisting of the Castle Haltbergstetten and individual houses, was first mentioned in 1220 as Haldenberch with its own lower nobility. Associated goods were in 1300 Augsburg fiefs for von Weinsberg. At the beginning of the 14th century, Haltebergstetten was also claimed by Würzburg as a fief. The history of the residential area is comparable to that of Niederstetten.

According to the universal encyclopedia of the present and the past , the city of Niederstetten was called Haltbergstetten until 1807 .

Holdbergstetten Castle

The Castle Keep Bergstetten is built around the year 1200 a fortress in the 16th century a castle was rebuilt. In addition to a natural history museum, the castle also housed a hunting museum. Today the castle is used exclusively for private purposes.

Castle chapel

The Maria Immaculata Chapel at Holdbergstetten Castle served as the parish church of the Catholics in Niederstetten until 1966, before the parish church of St. Johannes Evangelist was built in Niederstetten in 1965/66 .
