Halz Maul und spiel was a German rock band that was founded in 2001 by four students. The band broke up in 2009.

history

The band began with a school project at the An der Stenner high school in the Westphalian city of Iserlohn . The band was founded from a music working group that was brought into being by music teacher Peter Schauß . After a few regional appearances, the first self-produced CD was created in autumn 2004 under the title Greif mich , which contained five self-written songs.

In January 2005 Halz Maul and play took second place in the North Rhine-Westphalian state competition Rock it . That same year, the first television appearances followed in the program of children's channel KI.KA . On November 3, 2005, viewers of the station voted the group in a telephone vote with 44% as the best school band in Germany, ahead of the Leipzig band Sommerwind and the Berlin band Rock4 . Following this success, they were invited by the German Embassy in Brasilia, the Consulate General in São Paulo, the Goethe-Institut Brasilia and two Brazilian German schools to take part in four concerts in Brazil as “ambassadors for the young German music scene” .

In 2007 the four students signed a contract with the record company Universal Music and began producing an album. The first single, Immer (the devil shits) , hit the German charts in October 2007.

On March 22nd, 2008 you were seen as a guest in an episode of the children's and youth series Schloss Einstein, alongside KI.KA Live “Best Actress Wanted” winner Neele Seeberg.

The last concert took place on December 11th, 2009.
