The Hamilton Glacier is an 8 km long glacier in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . On the Edward VII Peninsula, it flows south of Cape Colbeck on the Shirase coast into the Ross Sea .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2003 after the glaciologist Gordon Hamilton (1966-2016) from the University of Maine , who had studied the movement of the West Antarctic ice currents since the 1980s .
