Hammer & compass
Hammer & Zirkel is a German-speaking hip-hop trio. It consists of the rapper G-Fu (Hammer), the producer Sneezy (Zirkel) and the DJ Tracksau (&).
biography
Hammer & Zirkel took their first steps in hip-hop at the turn of the millennium. At the time, they both tried their hand at being a rapper and a DJ. Over time, Hammer & Zirkel concentrated on one element. From then on, G-Fu rapped his lyrics, while Sneezy was responsible for the productions. Later, the two decide to act as a duo. The name Hammer & Zirkel refers to the corresponding flag of the GDR .
“We have the East German mentality and the upbringing that our parents gave us. Of course, the name also stands for the label Plattenbau Ost. That makes a good symbol for the whole Schoose. "
In 2006 the duo came into contact with the record label Plattenbau Ost . Joe Rilla was supposed to mix and master a mixtape of the duo and signed Hammer & Zirkel. During the working phase on the album, Hammer & Zirkel also performed at Feuer über Deutschland 3 . In October 2008 the debut album Music is our life was released, therefore we become educators , on which B-Tight , Marteria and Abroo were represented, among others . Two months later, the mixtape Klicksongscheiß was released for free download. It contained a collection of features and free tracks. The Berlin DJ Tracksau joined the duo at the beginning of 2009, and since then Hammer & Zirkel have been on the road as a trio. In May 2010, the free online EP Two and a Half Man was released together with Liquit Walker. The EP mainly consisted of cover versions of well-known songs, so the track Bad Role was recorded on the original music of Sido's song of the same name. The cover is also based heavily on the US series. On August 13th 2010 Hammer & Zirkel released the second album Wir sind Freunde and that's why we make music through their own label H & Z-Entertainment. On the song Music is our life, that's why we became educators , and the rappers Laas Unltd are involved in the educator profession . and Sido , as well as the producer 7inch - all three have already worked as educators.
