Fire over Germany is a three-part German DVD series in which well-known German rappers and their crews compete in battles .

history

The DVDs are filmed battles of several rappers and their crews. The individual rappers mainly presented written texts and less freestyle, as is common practice. The texts were performed a cappella , i.e. without musical accompaniment. Different locations were chosen for each DVD. Some rappers were already known before the DVD, but others were only brought into the light of the rap public through the DVD.

Fire over Germany 1

Kool Savas, moderator of the first part

The first episode appeared in 2006 and was published by Out4Fame together with Kool Savas , who was also a presenter. The style and type of competition are based on US-American formats of a similar character, which were also popular in Germany through the film 8 Mile , but were already part of the German scene during the Royal Bunker era and rap on Wednesday . The CD contains about two hours of material. An audio CD with selected tracks was also included.

Fire over Germany 2

The second part was released in 2007. The moderator was Snaga after Kool Savas and Out4Fame had an argument about the further direction of the DVD series. The venue was the Alte Gloria cinema in Hagen . The second part was released on two DVDs, with DVD 1 solo and DVD 2 team battles.

Fire over Germany 3

The third part of the series was released in 2008 and was moderated by Marcus Staiger , rap journalist and former Royal Bunker label boss. The event took place in the börse in Wuppertal . While the first two parts were recorded directly in the audience, this time the battles took place in a boxing ring . The double DVD contains seven hours of video material. A total of 100 rappers competed against each other in around 20 battles.
