Sandy Solo

Sandy Solo (born September 13 , bourgeois Sandy Senad Honic ) is a rapper and producer from Heilbronn .

Life

At the age of nine he discovered hip-hop for himself. He started rapping at the age of twelve and produced his first own beats at the age of 16. In 1999 he formed the group Tha Hillz Connection with his friends Nenad, Heiko and DJ sean. After their dissolution in 1999 he played solo and as a permanent member of the HNX Souldiers in the opening act of Kool Savas , Azad , Massive Töne , Curse and Sentino .

He became known for his participation in the first two parts of Fire Over Germany . In the battles documented there, he could not prevail against Kee Rush (2007) and Liquit Walker (2008). He himself once described this as a “blessing and a curse”, since all of Germany now knows him, but from the wrong side. Sandy Solo then released albums and mixtapes (with features by Sentino , Bastian Fleig, Camouflow and others).

At the beginning of 2010 he teamed up with the Heilbronn rapper Peak and recorded the mixtape with him 28 days later , which was completely written and recorded in 28 days. Each track is based on a theme. Many of the hooks on the mixtape were sung by guest artists (e.g. Mike Dalien from Down Low ). Later in 2010 he released his album Coming to America , on which all of the beats were made by himself, and all guest rappers were recorded exclusively for this album. To include Royce da 5'9 " , Termanology , Havoc ( Mobb Deep ), Big Noyd , Cormega , Young Noble & Hussein Fatal ( Outlawz ), JR Writer & Hell Rell ( Diplomats / Dip Set ), Nature, Shyheim and a few others. The album mainly sold in America and Asia.

In 2012 his album Besser als mein Ruf was released with features by Franky Kubrick , Illmatic , Royce da 5'9 ″ , Sentence aka Sentino , Young Noble , Six Eastwood, Mike Dalien from Down Low and many other artists. In 2013 his mixtape At Night was released for free on the American website datpiff. The mixtape was written, produced and recorded by Sandy Solo within seven days.

With Nenad, who had been part of the Tha Hillz Connection group with him, he founded the group Mobb Fu in 2014. The group's sound was heavily inspired by the New York rap of the 1990s. Together they released the album Codex . At the end of 2014 the Winter Ep followed and in the summer of 2015 the second album Illusion. Together they were among others on the Out 4 Fame Festival on

Sandy Honic played a small role in the German crime comedy Im Winter, So Schön (2015). In August 2016 he also released his first instrumental album Space Odyssey . In the ZDF_neo series neoManiacs (2017) and the ZDF multi-part series Bad Banks (2018) he again appeared in small roles in front of the camera.
