Dra-Q
Dra-Q , now performing under the pseudonym SirQlate , (* 1978 in Berlin , bourgeois Fabian Blume ) is a German rapper . The four letters stand for "Dialogue, Rhymes, Statement - Quality". He became known within the hip-hop scene through the band projects Krisenstab and Ostblokk . As a solo artist, he drew attention outside of the hip-hop scene with the McDonald’s campaign “I love it” .
biography
Dra-Q came into contact with hip-hop through the film Beat Street in the mid-1980s . With the records of Run DMC , Boogie Down Productions , Public Enemy etc., the desire to become active himself grew in him. In 1990 he started writing English texts as MC P-MO. Together with MC OBST and various musicians, he founded the jazz / hip-hop band Exentrix in 1994 . When the first attempts with English lyrics went more badly than right, he began to write the written texts completely in German from 1995/96.
From the second half of the 90s, Dra-Q made a name for himself at numerous freestyle battles and cyprus rounds and was at the Splash! represented. He was at the freestyle sessions in the Royalbunker , but also worked with rappers such as Gauner , Joe Rilla , Schattenmann and the DOA. The band K-Reim was founded in 1997 together with MCschicht (now the head of the capital city agency), OBST and DJ Piem. At the same time he worked as a live support for the crisis team.
By separating from K-Reim, Dra-Q began to deal with solo projects and in 2001 released the EP "PMOBC" as a permanent member of the crisis team.
In 2003 the Munich advertising agency Heye & Partner selected him as the German part of the McDonald's campaign “I love it” and signed him for advertising.
With the care lounge
In 1999/2000 a 14-person crew or artist pool was created from various Berlin rappers, DJs and producers, which consisted of Yaneq , Pyranja , Krisenstab and Sera Finale. Together with Till Hastreiter and the members of the care lounge, the movie Status Yo! , in which Dra-Q appears in a supporting role. He can also be heard on the soundtrack as a solo artist and as part of the care lounge. Due to various differences, the formation split up in 2003.
With the Ostblokk
In 2004, together with Pyranja , Joe Rilla, Sera Finale , Jamie White and Mesa, the artist platform , crew and label Ostblokk Plattenbau was created . The album once around Blokk was released in 2004 by Ostblokk. The street album Back In The TapeZ by Dra-Q & Jamie White was also released.
The album Hope was supposed to be released in 2007 on the Jubeko Records label, which, however, broke up at the beginning of the year for reasons unknown.
New Def
The new album was released on March 21, 2008 via New Def Records . Dra-Q is officially under contract as an artist with the Dresden label. The album is titled Hope and was produced by Joe Rilla, Djorkaeff and Beatgees, among others.
Antihero
Together with the Lemgo rapper Abroo , he founded the band project Antihelden in 2009 . The first release, Kampf der Veteranen , appeared on March 26th, 2010 via NewDEF / Flavamatic as a limited CD edition and online release . This was followed by the album Kein Happy End , which was also released in 2010 on the Dresden label NewDEF. The two rappers went back to their roots and, together with the producers Snowgoons and MecsTreem, again value content and sample-heavy boom bap rap.

Fabian Blume is a founding member of the hip-hop party “Die Urbane” and ran for entry to the 19th German Bundestag in 2017 .
