geography
The wasteland lay on the Katzenbach, a right tributary of the Rotach , which fed the Seegweiher immediately to the west. In the north was the Seegfeld corridor area, in the south Am Seegfeld.
history
Hammerschmiede has been part of the Mönchsroth community since the community edict (early 19th century). It was house no. 46 in Mönchsroth. Today there is a residential building in its place (Römerstrasse 15).
